— -- Easter weekend means fuzzy-tailed bunnies, brunch or Sunday church for some, but it also heralds a number of spring-related deals this weekend.

Just be sure to check store hours and restrictions for publicized deals. It's always a good idea to call ahead if you're going out of your way to snag a discount or freebie.

It may be a great time to stock up on Easter-related holiday items and craft purchases for next year. Overall, shoppers can already find Easter items on sale at many retailers, said Regina Conway, savings expert with the website Slickdeals. Many retailers are clearing holiday merchandise before the holiday is over, as well as discounting certain holiday-related products to bring shoppers into the store.

"The deepest discounts will still happen after the holiday itself, as stores look to clear those products quickly. But if you're looking for the best selection and/or are doing some last minute shopping, you can already find some great deals," she said.

Tabletop items and decor are already discounted at stores such as Pottery Barn, which is currently promoting up to 60 percent off all Easter items. If you're not looking for bunnies and chicks, look for items that will be usable throughout spring such as floral dinner plates.

If satisfying your sweet tooth is important, candy is definitely a category where you can get some great deals.

Check out these promotions:

Amazon: Though it may not be an Easter pastime in your household, it's a good time to stock up on board games, Conway said. Unfortunately Amazon's Easter deal of Buy 2, Get 1 free on board games ended last week, but it's still heavily promoting board games among its Easter toy deals. Among Amazon's "Easter gifts under $25" is the Hasbro's popular Pie Face Game at $5 for $14.99.

Slickdeals points to an Amazon coupon for 20 percent off Easter chocolates and candy.

Bass Pro Shops: Get a free 4-inch by 6-inch photo with the Easter Bunny at some locations through Sunday. Many locations offer Easter egg hunts and free crafts for kids. Stores hours may vary.

Delivery.com: Get 10 percent off your Delivery.com orders (everything from groceries to booze, depending on your region) with code WKND10

Dippin' Dots: Get free ground shipping for orders $40 or more.

Pottery Barn: Up to 60 percent off all Easter items online and in stores. If you've ever wanted a decorative white sisal bunny, now's the time to score one for $9.99, discounted from $29.

Pottery Barn Kids: Get 20 percent off your entire order in-store or online with the code HAPPY20 through Saturday 11:59 p.m. PT.

Target: Get two bags of Cadbury mini eggs for $5.40.

"Of course, if you really want to stock up, you'll be able to find even deeper discounts after Easter," Conway notes.

You can also look for snack items that will work for kids' lunches, Conway suggests. For example, Target has organic Yumearth bunny fruit snacks for 10 percent off (now $3.14) among its Easter products.
