— -- Victoria's Secret's first Super Bowl ad in seven years is reminding football viewers that one of the brand's biggest sales periods is around the corner.
In a teaser ad released today, the lingerie seller, owned by L Brands in Columbus, Ohio, uses the tagline "Don't Drop the Ball" for Valentine's Day.
Five Victoria's Secret models, including Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio and Candice Swanepoel, don football uniforms and helmets in the ad, which will air in the game's fourth quarter.
In the company's first Super Bowl commercial in 1999, Victoria's Secret promoted a webcast of the its fashion show.
In its second Super Bowl ad in 2008, Victoria’s Secret promoted its Valentine’s Day collection and had record-breaking 103.7 million viewers.
Valentine's Day has been the brand’s second-biggest sales period of the year behind Christmas, Jill Beraud, former chief marketing officer at Victoria's Secret, told Ad Age in 2008. A spokeswoman declined to comment to ABC News.
