In an interview with People magazine, Jill Dillard said she had taken two pregnancy tests that were negative.
"My sisters were asking if I was pregnant and I'm like 'nooo' and they're like 'Well, mom has pregnancy tests upstairs and you could be pregnant so you should take one!'" the 23-year-old recalled.
She added, laughing: "It was more like to prove them wrong -- like, I'm not pregnant, I'm going to show you so.' Well."
Charlotte Triggs of People magazine said Dillard wants to give birth at home because it's "way more comfortable and relaxed."
She added: "Jill's actually a trained midwife and she's assisted on 70 births herself so she kind of knows what she's doing."
Dillard told People that she's experiencing terrible morning sickness but says her husband has been very supportive.
The baby -- he hopes it's a girl and she hopes it's a boy -- is due in March.
The couple said "I do" on June 21, before more than 1,000 loved ones at the Cross Church in Springdale, Ark. They shared their first kiss after being pronounced husband and wife.
"We're just really trying to keep our relationship focused not on the physical but really just more on communication and continuing to learn more about each other," the reality TV star, who appears in TLC's "19 Kids and Counting," explained to ABC News after her engagement in April. "We're saving our first kiss and things beyond that for our wedding."
However, both had babies on their mind early. Jill Dillard told ABC News that in addition to having biological children, they hope to adopt as well.
"Both of us want as many kids as God will give us," she said. "My parents have kept popping them out so we'll see how [our] fertility is!"
Her 25-year-old husband agreed.
"We'll just see what God brings along and it's exciting," he said.
The Dillards' happy news comes just days after another Duggar daughter, Jessa, announced her engagement to Ben Seewald, her boyfriend of 11 months.
