— -- 2017 proved to be a busy year for celebrities on Instagram.

In February, Beyoncé set a new record for likes on the social media platform, after she shared an announcement that she was pregnant with twins Rumi and Sir.

The post garnered more than 11 million likes, far surpassing the record at the time: a shot of Selena Gomez drinking Coca-Cola, which earned more than six million likes.

Gomez's previous record was shattered at least 10 times this year, with the singer herself posting four photos that garnered more than seven million likes each.
