— -- There was immediate reactions on social media to today’s Emmy nominations.
“Game of Thrones” was the overall leader, with an impressive 24 nods, and a close second was “American Horror Story: Freak Show” with 19.
“Mad Men” and “House of Cards” both had very strong showings with multiple nods during the 67th Emmy nominations, announced this morning in Los Angeles by “Orange Is the New Black” star Uzo Aduba and “So You Think You Can Dance” host Cat Deeley.
But it was the newcomers and first-time nominees, including Oscar nominee Viola Davis, comedian Amy Schumer and new Netflix series “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,” who got the most cheers on social media.
As always, there were plenty of jeers from fans whose favorites, such as “Black-ish,” “Outlander” and Kerry Washington, failed to make the list.
