Staind and Others Are Rockin' the Recession

For rock fans who've hit rock bottom, Staind, Shinedown, Chevelle and Halestorm are offering a bailout with the incentive-packed Stimulate This! tour.

The trek, which targets bargain hunters, launches July 1 in Peoria, Ill., and heads to more than 40 markets, many in cities hardest hit by the recession. The bands worked closely with concert promoters to whittle down prices: Most tickets are under $40, roughly half the cost of comparable multi-act summer bills, with some lawn seats for less than $10. Each stop also will offer additional promotions varying from markdowns at venue concessions to discounts at local retailers or online rebates for band merchandise.
