Alec Baldwin had an altercation today with police in New York City.

However, a police source said that had he behaved differently when he was stopped for riding his bike the wrong way, it would have been settled without fanfare.

Baldwin told officers, who first issued him a summons for the bike offense, "I don't have identification. Just give me the f****** summons” and “wrap this summons around your head.”

The police source added Baldwin “got arrogant and loud," which is why he was given his second summons for disorderly summons.

Then, at the precinct station house, where he was taken for a warrant check after failing to produce identification, Baldwin allegedly said, "How old are these officers? They don't even know who I am," the source added.

Baldwin, 56, was equally unhappy by how the NYPD treated him.

Alec Baldwins's Most Memorable Altercations

"Officer Moreno, badge number 23388, arrested me and handcuffed me for going the wrong way on Fifth Ave," the former "30 Rock" star tweeted after the fact. "New York City is a mismanaged carnival of stupidity that is desperate for revenue and anxious to criminalize behavior once thought benign."

The NYPD clarified that Baldwin had not been arrested.

The former "30 Rock" star who has an eight-month-old daughter with wife Hilaria, also lashed out at police for not defending him from paparazzi camped outside his apartment.

"Meanwhile, photographers outside my home ONCE AGAIN terrified my daughter and nearly hit her with a camera," he tweeted. "The police did nothing."

A rep for the actor had no comment.
