Amber Heard Says Being a Stepmom Is the 'Greatest Gift'
Heard married Depp, the father of two teenagers, earlier this year.
— -- When Amber Heard married Johnny Depp, she not only became his wife, but stepmother to his two teenage children.
"[It's] an honor and the greatest, most surprising gift I have ever received in my life," Heard, 29, said in the December issue of Marie Claire about being stepmom to Lily-Rose, 16, and Jack, 13, Depp's children with his former partner, French singer and actress Vanessa Paradis.
"I feel new flavors that I didn't know existed," she continued. "New colors that I didn't know existed have been added to my life. I'm so happy."
Heard tied the knot with Depp, 52, in February after a brief engagement, and ever since the couple have been dogged by tabloid rumors of their breakup.
"I try not to react to the horrible misrepresentation of our lives, but it is strange, and hard," she said.
The new Mrs. Depp has no plans to slow down her work either.
"I never expect anyone to give me anything," she told Marie Claire. "The notion of someone supporting me would be absurd to me."
