Andi Dorfman and Josh Murray Were Acting 'Awkward and Weird' Pre-Split, Said Chris Harrison
"Bachelor" host Chris Harrison "knew things were a little off."
— -- Just a few days before "Bachelorette" stars Andi Dorfman and Josh Murray announced they'd ended their engagement, Chris Harrison interviewed them on the red carpet for the premiere of "The Bachelor."
At the time, he said, he had no idea that the couple was on the verge of splitting.
"Everyone thought I knew while I was talking to them about their wedding date and we were all just kind of faking and getting over on everybody... but I honestly didn't know," he said during an appearance on Ryan Seacrest's radio show. "I knew things were a little off. They were being a little awkward and weird but you know, they're from Georgia! You know those people!" (Seacrest is a Georgia native.)
Dorfman, 27, and Murray, 30, told Harrison that they had stalled their wedding planning, but did not give an indication that they were planning to break up. The "Bachelor" host said that if he'd known, he would have handled the interview differently.
"A.) I was shocked and B.) I was a little disappointed because I wish they just said something to me," he said. "I never would've put them in that awkward of a position and talked about their wedding date."
Even now, he said, he isn't sure what went wrong, but he's hoping to figure it out -- maybe even on TV.
"I've talked to Andi, but I've talked to her as a friend. I wasn't pumping her for information," he said. "Hopefully I'll sit down with one or both of them at one point."
