Archie Panjabi Opens Up About Last Scene on 'Good Wife'
Actress left the show at the end of this season to headline new drama pilot.
— -- When Kalinda, played by Archie Panjabi, and Alicia, played by Julianna Margulies, shared a final scene together on the recent season finale of "The Good Wife," it almost seemed too good to be true.
After the scene aired, rumors spread online that the two actresses shot the scene separately and the final product was computer generated.
"All I can say is this: The decision making process is not something I'm privy to," Panjabi cryptically told E! News when asked about the rumors.
The actress, who played Kalinda Sharma on the CBS drama since 2009, did admit that "it was hard to say goodbye." But, she added, her exit had been in the works for two years.
So, don't expect her to return in the future.
"I don't think so," she told E!, explaining that Kalinda, "came in as a mystery and left as a mystery."
The plan now is for Panjabi to headline a drama pilot for 20th Century TV this spring.
"Archie is an amazing actress who helped build Kalinda from the ground up as an enigmatic, powerful, and sexy character. It's been a pleasure to write for her, and we'll be sad to see her go," Robert and Michelle King said in a statement. "We look forward to meeting all the wonderful new characters Archie brings to the screen. But either way, we're keeping the boots."
Well, not if Kalinda, ahem Panjabi, can help it.
She revealed to E! that she's in talks to keep some of Kalinda's signature leather jackets and boots.
She smiled, "It would be nice to have some of the pieces."
