Avril Lavigne Announces Split From Husband Chad Kroeger

— -- After a little more than two years of marriage, Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger are separating.
The "Complicated" singer took to Instagram to break the news.
"It is with heavy heart that Chad and I announce our separation today," she wrote. "Through not only the marriage, but the music as well, we've created many unforgettable moments. We are still, and forever will be, the best of friends, and will always care deeply for each other. To all our family, friends and fans, thank you sincerely for the support."
Lavigne, 30, and Kroeger, 40, were wed in July 2013 in the South of France.
But it's been a tough year for Lavigne, who earlier this year opened up about her battle with Lyme disease on "Good Morning America."
"I believe that I will come out of this healthier and stronger than I was before," Lavigne said. "I’ve gained a lot of perspective on my life."
This is Lavigne's second marriage. She was also wed to Deryck Whibley from 2006 to 2009.
