'Bachelor in Paradise' Star Nick Viall Talks Rivalry With Josh Murray
Both seemed to have feelings for Amanda.
— -- Nick Viall and Josh Murray found themselves in a familiar predicament on "Bachelor in Paradise" - battling over the same woman.
The two reality TV stars, who competed for Andi Dorfman's heart on "The Bachelorette," both had eyes for Amanda Stanton in last night's episode.
And - spoiler alert for those who aren't fully caught up with the show - Murray was once again victorious.
"I think a lot of people at least had a chuckle when Josh came in," Viall told ABC News. "I think the way they hit it off was a bit unexpected. It was almost hard even for me not to laugh about it, but ... I think things always have way of working out."
On last night's episode, Viall took Stanton on a date and kissed her. However, shortly thereafter, Murray arrived and asked out Stanton too. They hit it off, and began making out in front of Viall and the rest of their castmates.
"There's lion and there's sheep," Murray told the cameras afterward. "Roar."
Viall, who said that he and Murray have been unfairly categorized as rivals, added that they don't have a relationship at all in real life. Still, he understands that "perception can be reality."
"When Josh came in, especially when he went out with Amanda, among the rest of the cast there was a lot of, 'Ooh, does that bother you? Is he friends with you?' Having to answer a lot of those questions can get a little old," he admitted. "I was hopeful that Josh and I could be able to make sure that that that didn't build up."
He also said that he did not harbor any ill will toward Stanton.
"We had some nice time [together] and we were open with each other about where we were at," he said, "[but] we were open to knowing that other people might show up."
