Britney Spears Announces MTV Video Music Awards Performance
The promo video includes snippets of her past VMA mischief.
— -- Over the years, Britney Spears has provided some of the most memorable moments from the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) over the years -- from dancing with a snake, to stripping down to a flesh-colored ensemble, to smooching Madonna. In two weeks, she'll reveal the mischief she's got planned for this year's VMAs.
On Tuesday afternoon, Spears confirmed she'll be performing during the awards show.
"It's not just a stage. It's a story," she wrote on Twitter, adding the hashtag "#VMAs." She added a minute-long promo that's a throwback to her past VMA glories.
"The VMAs don't just give you a stage," she said in a voice-over. "They give you a story. A way of taking a fraction of a second and making it live forever."
"Before you know it, it's history," she added. "Before you know it, it's Britney, b***h."
The promo ends with the words "Britney Performs Live, Sunday August 28." During her performance, Spears will be joined by rapper G-Eazy, who collaborated with her on the current hit "Make Me..."
The singer's performance will come two days after her new album "Glory" arrives in stores.
