Britney Spears Reschedules Two Shows After Ankle Injury
The singer fell during a performance in Las Vegas.
— -- Britney Spears is rescheduling two shows because of her ankle injury.
The singer, who has a residency at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, is canceling the performances that had been scheduled for Friday and Saturday nights.
"Britney injured her ankle during her performance Wednesday evening and her doctor has advised her not to perform Friday and Saturday evening so that she may heal," read a statement from the singer and the venue. "Britney Spears, Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino and Live Nation apologize for any inconvenience this causes ticket holders."
On Wednesday night, Spears, 33, was dancing to her song "Crazy" when she tweaked her ankle and fell. Earlier today, she assured fans that she was feeling fine.
"Thank you for all of the sweet wishes! Had a little scare on stage tonight with my ankle but I’m ok!" she tweeted.
The singer has had a residency in Las Vegas since 2014. She's also begun working on a new album "slowly but surely" -- though her focus right now is on her sons, Sean Preston, 9, and Jayden James, 8.
"There's a lot going on with my kids and schools and, you know, adding new sports and stuff like that,” she told Billboard last month. “I'm going to try to do my best to do an amazing album, but it's not my full priority right now.”
