— -- Cate Blanchett is currently starring as as the evil stepmother in Disney's live-action retelling of "Cinderella," but the role she's really relishing these days is "new mom."

The actress opened up about adopting a daughter during her film's Sydney premiere.

"It’s extraordinary! You know, there’s a lot of children out there who don’t have the good fortune that our biological children do, so it’s wonderful,” Blanchett told Sky News on Sunday. "It’s wonderful to welcome a little girl into our fold. We’re besotted."

The Oscar winner, 45, along with husband, Andrew Upton, recently adopted Edith Vivian Patricia Upton. This is the fourth child for the pair, who are already parents to Ignatius Martin, 6, Roman Robert, 10, and Dashiell John, 13.

Blanchett and Upton wed in 1997.
