The two-time Oscar-nominated actor, known for his roles in "The Producers," "Blazing Saddles" and "Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory," died today in his Connecticut home, his family confirmed to ABC News. He was 83.
Mel Brooks, a frequent film collaborator of Wilder's, said in a statement to ABC News, "Gene Wilder, one of the truly great talents of our time is gone. He blessed every film we did together with his special magic. And he blessed my life with his friendship. He will be so missed."
Brooks, 90, also took to Twitter to share his sentiments. He wrote, "Gene Wilder-One of the truly great talents of our time. He blessed every film we did with his magic & he blessed me with his friendship."
