Channing Tatum Confirmed to Star in 'X-Men' Franchise

May 13, 2014 — -- The "X-Men" franchise has officially added another big name - Channing Tatum.
The "Magic Mike" star was confirmed by "X-Men" producer Lauren Shuler Donner as the card-throwing Gambit, real name Remy LeBeau.
Donner told Total Film, "It is Channing, yes, yes."

“He’s a rogue. Channing, he’s a rascal, just like Remy LeBeau,” Donner said. “And he can handle the action. We all know that.
Donner knows Tatum, 34, personally, having done a movie with him already.
"I think he'll be great" she added. "He's not from New Orleans, but he is a southerner, he understands that world."
