Christina Grimmie Laid to Rest in New Jersey
The funeral was paid for by Adam Levine, Grimmie's former mentor.
— -- Christina Grimmie was laid to rest in a private, intimate funeral Thursday afternoon, her rep confirms to ABC News.
Close friends and family paid their respects to the 22-year-old singer and former "The Voice" contestant in her home state of New Jersey, People magazine said.
As previously reported, the funeral was paid for by Grimmie's former mentor, Adam Levine.
A public memorial is taking place at the Fellowship Alliance Chapel in Medford, New Jersey, Friday afternoon. A memorial service will begin at 8 p.m.
Christina was fatally shot last Friday as she signed autographs for fans following a gig in Orlando, Florida.
Grimmie's brother Marcus spoke out about his sister earlier this week during a vigil for the slain singer.
"Christina was awesome ... she loved singing, she loved the Lord, and she loved me, and she was just my baby sister," he told hundreds of people who gathered to pay their respects.
