— -- Noah Galloway has a good reason why he dropped down on one knee and popped the question Monday night on "Dancing With the Stars."

Obviously, the Army veteran's girlfriend Jamie Boyd said "Yes" -- but Galloway told ABC News after the show that it "was just a moment I wanted to share with America, because so much of our relationship has been shared because of this show."

In fact, Boyd surprised the war hero during week 2 on the show, by coming out of nowhere to celebrate his dance. He thought she was away at basic training.

"It made sense to do it here," he said, adding that the proposal wasn't for votes.

After Galloway proposed, his future wife answered in the best way possible with a "heck yes!"

She also said, "I'm speechless, and I'm never speechless. Oh, baby, I love you so much!"

Asked why he added this to the high stakes of the semifinals on the show, Galloway joked, "I think I really enjoy pressure."

"The waltz we did before was romantic and sweet, so it put me in the mood, ready to do it!" he continued.

He also said the looming proposal kind of distracted him a bit, which made the dance smoother, because he wasn't worried about the dance as much.

Boyd said Galloway tricked her by saying they would ask her how he was doing, so she got a nice dress.
