Emmy-Nominated 'People v. OJ Simpson' Star Interested in More Than Recognition
Get to know the Emmy-nominated Sterling K. Brown.
— -- "The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story" could be one of the top stories of the Emmy Awards on Sunday night.
The FX series received 22 nominations over the summer, trailing only HBO's "Game of Thrones," which earned 23.
Three of its nods are in the category for outstanding supporting actor in a limited series or movie, for the performances by John Travolta, David Schwimmer and Sterling K. Brown.
Brown, who played prosecutor Christopher Darden, is considered the front-runner to win the category.
He told ABC News the fact that he's nominated alongside two of his co-stars, along with other notable actors like Hugh Laurie, is "surreal," adding that he's "enjoying the moment."
While he he said appreciates the nomination, getting an award is not Brown's top priority.
"It's nice to do things that are artistically fulfilling as well as financially rewarding. And that's a place that I hope to stay for quite some time," he adds.
ABC's Emmys broadcast will begin at 8 p.m. ET, 5 p.m. PT, following a red carpet special.
