'Fantastic Four' Flops at Weekend Box Office

— -- "Fantastic Four" had anything but a fantastic debut over the weekend.
The poorly reviewed superhero reboot opened in second place, earning an estimated $26.2 million. That total is less than half of what the previous two "Fantastic Four" movies made during their debut weekends.
"Fantastic Four," starring Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell, reportedly had a budget of $120 million.
"Mission: Impossible -- Rogue Nation" was the top movie for the second weekend in a row, collecting $29.4 million.
The Jason Bateman-Joel Edgerton thriller "The Gift" took third place, collecting $12 million. Edgerton wrote and directed the film.
"Ricki and the Flash," featuring Meryl Streep as a rock musician, finished in seventh place, with a $7-million debut.
"Shaun the Sheep Movie," based on the animated British TV series, made $4 million. The "Wallace and Gromit" spin-off has raised $5.6 million since hitting theaters last Wednesday.
