Foo Fighters Singer Dave Grohl Welcomes Daughter
The baby girl came days before he lost his father, Jim, to cancer.
— -- Foo Fighters star Dave Grohl and his wife, Jordyn Blum, just welcomed their third child: a girl named Ophelia.
The news first broke when Grohl's father, Jim, died this month at 75 after a battle with cancer and a Youngstown, Ohio, paper ran his obituary. Jim Grohl had worked for the local paper, The Vindicator.
In the obit from earlier this month, it reported Jim left behind three grandchildren Violet, 8, Harper, 5, and Ophelia.
Grohl's latest addition to the family hadn't been reported born yet.
People magazine confirmed the birth with his rep and added that the former Nirvana star, 45, and his wife first revealed they were expecting again in April at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction.
E! News adds that the baby was born Aug. 1, just days before the singer lost his father.
The David Grohl Alley Scholarship Program also commented on the birth on Facebook, writing, "Bittersweet news - congratulations David Grohl and Jordyn Blum who have welcomed a new baby girl #3 Ophelia Grohl! The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away!!"
