George R.R. Martin Releases Excerpt From New Book 'The Winds of Winter'

— -- "Game of Thrones" fans have been dying to read George R.R. Martin's latest book, "The Winds of Winter," which doesn't have a release date and something the author has said he's still working on.

But, Martin decided to give fans a taste on Thursday by posting an excerpt to his website.

It's the first new material Martin has released in almost four years since he came out with "A Dance with Dragons."

The chapter comes out ahead of the April 12 season 5 premiere on HBO.
