— -- Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh has undergone surgery for bladder cancer, the musician announced.

In a message on the Facebook page for Terrapin Crossroads, the California restaurant and venue he owns, Lesh, 75, explained he was diagnosed in early October and sought treatment at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona.

“I am very fortunate to have the pathology reports show that the tumors are all non aggressive, and that there is no indication that they have spread,” he writes. “So thanks to my local doctor Cliff Sewell, and the incredible team at the Mayo Clinic, all is well and I can return to normal activities in two weeks from my surgery.”

But since he’s recovering, he has canceled his shows at Terrapin Crossroads scheduled for Oct. 24 and 25. The concerts will be rescheduled.

Lesh fought prostate cancer in 2006 and made a full recovery, according to the BBC.
