Halle Berry's split with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry turned ugly this Thanksgiving when Aubry was hospitalized and arrested after a fight at the actress' home with her fiancé, Olivier Martinez.

The fight broke out between the men at Berry's home just before 10 a.m. Thursday, ABC News station KABC-TV in Los Angeles reported. Aubry was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A. with fractured ribs and bruising to his face.

Martinez injured his hand and neck but the extent of his injuries was unclear, KABC reported.

After the hospital treatment, police held Aubry on a charge of misdemeanor battery, with bail set at $20,000, Los Angeles Police Sgt. Mike Odle told ABC News Radio.

Afterwards, a judge issued an emergency protective order to keep Aubry at least 100 yards away from Berry, Martinez and Nahla, Aubry's daughter with Berry, until Dec. 3, KABC reported.

Berry, 46, recently endured a difficult custody battle with Aubry, 36. The pair split in March 2010. A judge denied the actress' request earlier this month to move to France with Nahla, a court victory for Aubry. He argued that the move to France would have been punitive and was designed to stop him from having contact with his daughter.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart fueled the frenzy over the "Twilight" series when they went from onscreen loves to a real-life romance. But the couple split in July when Stewart was caught cheating on Pattinson with her "Snow White and the Huntsman" director, Rupert Sanders. Stewart and Sanders issued apologies to their respective partners after the publication of photos of the two of them together. Pattison, 26, moved out of the Los Angeles home he shared with Stewart, 22.

Since the split, reports have swirled about whether the pair have reconciled. The stars did stop for photos together at "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2" premiere Nov. 13 but neither has openly discussed the split.

Chris Brown and Rihanna

Chris Brown and Rihanna had a very public split in 2009. The night before the Grammy Awards that year, Brown assaulted the singer, leaving the now 24-year-old battered and bruised. Brown pleaded guilty to felony assault and was sentenced to five years of probation, community labor and one year of domestic-violence counseling for assault.

"He had no -- no soul in his eyes. Just blank. So, at that point, I just didn't know what could happen. ... There was no person when I looked at him. ... It wasn't the same person that says, 'I love you,'" Rihanna said in an interview with "20/20" in 2009.

Earlier this year, the pair collaborated on a song together and have been spotted spending more and more time together. Brown recently split with his girlfriend, Karrueche Tran, citing his friendship with Rihanna.

Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva

Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva, the mother of his now 3-year-old daughter, Lucia, split in 2010 after a year of dating. But their split got ugly when RadarOnline released several audio recordings of the actor screaming profanities at his ex-girlfriend. In the recordings, Gibson is heard saying, "You need a f*****g bat in the side of the head," "You need a f*****g soul," and "You don't have any f*****g friends except me," and "You're a f*****g whore -- now, I own you."

In March 2011, Gibson pleaded guilty to a charge of misdemeanor battery against Grigorieva and avoided jail time in exchange for 36 months of informal probation, community service, a year of domestic violence counseling and $570 in fines.

Gibson told journalist Allison Hope Weiner last year that he regretted what he said and that he was "angry" with himself. When asked whether people were angry with him about his rant, he said "no one expressed any anger at me. They may have felt it."

Gibson settled his custody case in August with Grigorieva, agreeing to give her $750,000, as well as continue to pay for the multimillion-dollar home he purchased for her and Lucia and provide additional financial support for the child.

Anne Hathaway and Raffaello Follieri

Anne Hathaway began dating Italian businessman Raffaello Follieri when she was just 21. But their fairy tale romance ended in a mess after four years when Hathaway left Follieri before he was arrested in 2008 for defrauding investors out of millions of dollars. He later pleaded guilty to 14 counts of conspiracy, money laundering and wire fraud.

After spending almost five years in a Pennsylvania prison, Follieri was deported back to Italy, where he said he is eager to move on. Follieri told ABC News in June that Hathaway had no knowledge of his business deals while they were dating. Follieri said he hasn't spoken to Hathaway since he was arrested, but he only has "positive" memories of their relationship.
