'Hotel Transylvania 2' Sets September Box Office Record

The animated sequel, featuring the voice of Adam Sandler as Dracula, set a September box office record by earning an estimated $47.5 million from Friday through Sunday.
The total represents the best debut on record for the month of September. The previous mark of $42.5 million was held by the first "Hotel Transylvania" movie, which was released in 2012.
The voice cast for "Hotel Transylvania 2" also includes Andy Samberg, Selena Gomez, Kevin James, Fran Drescher, Steve Buscemi, Molly Shannon, David Spade, Keegan-Michael Key and Mel Brooks.
The Anne Hathaway-Robert De Niro comedy, "The Intern," opened in second place, collecting $18.2 million.
"Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials," which was the box office champ last weekend, rounded out the top three, with $14 million.
The horror film "The Green Inferno" raised $3.5 million for a ninth-place debut.
