Iggy Azalea Quits Social Media After Body Bullying, Her Team Takes Over
"The Internet is the ugliest reflection of man kind there is," the rapper wrote.
— -- Rapper Iggy Azalea has decided to take a break from using social media after seeing some "shocking" comments about her body online.
Since claiming she would be quitting social media last night, it looks like the rapper has done just that. An hour after she said the Social Media posting would now be handled by her team and not personally, three pictures were posted to Instagram that are very basic in nature, a contrast to pics posted previously that included those with her boyfriend Nick Young.
The pics are said to be "outtakes from my Steve Madden shoot."
Before quitting, Azalea had been vacationing in Hawaii with her boyfriend, when photos of her in a red bikini had surfaced.
"Just got back from a great vacation, came online and saw apparently it's shocking and unheard of to be a woman and have cellulite. Lol," she tweeted Wednesday night. "I just want to have peace and relaxation time without a perve with long distance lense hiding out taking pictures, everyone deserves peace."
The Aussie rap sensation added that social media has changed her for the worst.
"I feel the hatred and pettiness i see online at all times is at making me become an angry person and I cannot be that," she wrote. "To become nasty because of the way I feel iam treated would be a disservice to my fans and I promise i will try to keep smiling."
Azalea, 24, then told her fans that she would be "taking some time away from social media. I need to be happy and it is too negative and draining."
She added, "The Internet is the ugliest reflection of man kind there is."
