The 'Jersey Shore' Side Show: Money-Making Schemes Galore
Snooki, The Situation & the gang are pursuing a batch of bizarre side projects.
Aug. 20, 2010 — -- It's official: GTL -- gym-tan-laundry -- is a legitimate life game plan.
They may look like a bunch of overly tanned, overly styled, over-the-top party animals and drama queens, but between downing shots and pumping fists, the boys and girls of "Jersey Shore" managed to monetize their skills and assets, like their abs (Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino), their hair (Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi), and their stripper sense of style (Jenni "JWOWW" Farley).
In case you've been stuck for the last year in, say, the Maldives, "Jersey Shore" is MTV's hit reality show about a bunch of fun-loving lads and ladies who first lived it up in New Jersey's Seaside Heights and then took Miami by storm. If you were indeed in the Maldives, you might want to book the next plane back there after reading that sentence, but about five million people tune into "Jersey Shore" every Thursday, and its stars have been getting rich quickly, reportedly banking $30,000 each per episode.
Not all of the show's cast can find the time to pursue outside projects, beyond milking club promoters for thousands of dollars in apperance fees (getting all of them to pimp out one place can cost tens of thousands of dollars).
Between vacillating about whether or not to stay on "Jersey Shore" and dishing dirt about her former co-stars, Angelina Pivarnick seems tapped out. Vinny Guadagnino and Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola don't appear to have branched out far beyond the show either.
