Jessica Simpson's Father Joe Diagnosed With Prostate Cancer

The father of the singer was diagnosed two months ago.

— -- Jessica Simpson's father Joe has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.

A rep for the Simpson patriarch tells People magazine that the diagnosis happened two months ago and that the 58-year-old is currently in recovery after a successful operation.

The rep adds that he's back to work as a photographer and heading to Japan for a shoot.

A request for comment from Simpson's rep was not immediately returned to ABC News.
