— -- On Tuesday, "19 Kids and Counting" star Jill Duggar Dillard announced the birth of her healthy baby boy Israel David.

"We are so thankful for a healthy Mom and baby! Love this sweet baby Israel!" read the statement from Jill's parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, which appeared on the family's Facebook page. "We are happy grandparents and we promise more pictures soon!"

Later in the day, the Duggars shared a special video from the hospital.

"We are so excited to announced the birth of our son," Jill, 23, says in the clip, sitting next to her husband Derick Dillard. "Not everything went as expected. So, we were reminded of the verse that the bible talks about where 'man plans his way, but the Lord drags his steps.' We were encouraged by that. He's just a handsome little fella."

This comes after Jill said last year that she hoped to give birth at home.

"I feel like it will be way more relaxing... and having the baby at home with a midwife provides more of that personal care," she said, adding that she lives down the street from a hospital. "It’s more intimate for the couple as well, getting to be in your own environment."

The birth episode will air on May 5 on TLC.

The baby was born on at 11:49 p.m. on Monday night and weighed 9 lbs., 10 oz.
