John Mellencamp Opens Up About Ex Meg Ryan

However, Mellencamp doesn't seem to be harboring any hard feelings.

"Meg is an angel," he said during an appearance on Howard Stern's Sirius radio show. "She was just an angel sent to me at the right time and we tried to have a relationship for three years long distance, and we'll see what happens."

Mellencamp, 62, is based in Indiana, while Ryan, 52, resides in New York City with her 8-year-old daughter, Daisy. Moving to the Big Apple was never an option, the singer once said.

"I need a nursemaid," he joked to Stern. "A wet maid, or something!"
