Johnny Depp Is Forbes' Most Overpaid Actor, Again
The Oscar nominee was given the title last year.
— -- For the second year in a row, Johnny Depp has been named Forbes' most overpaid actor.
The magazine looked at his three most recent wide-release films, including the 2016 movie "Alice Through the Looking Glass," to calculate that he returned only $2.80 at the box office for every $1 paid to the 53-year-old star.
"Through the Looking Glass" grossed only $77 million domestically and $300 million worldwide, against a production budget of $170 million, according to Box Office Mojo.
Second on the list is Will Smith, who starred in this year's "Suicide Squad," which was panned by critics. He also starred in "Concussion," among other projects. His return for every dollar paid him was $5.
Others on Forbes' list are Julia Roberts, the highest-ranked woman this year, Adam Sandler and Channing Tatum.
