Julie Bowen Sets Record Straight on Sofia Vergara Feud Rumors
What Vergara had Bowen do to put the rumors to rest.
— -- "Modern Family" is one of the leading sitcoms on TV and an Emmy Award-winning show, now in its 8th season.
But for some reason, rumors have always persisted that its female stars, Julie Bowen and Sofia Vergara, have an ongoing feud.
Well, Bowen just put that rumor to rest on Ellen DeGeneres' talk show Wednesday.
First, Bowen spoke about her first audition for the show.
"I wanted to desperately, but I was so pregnant with the twins during the audition process," she said. "I was so large, that I was going to give birth any minute ... so, I took myself out of first place for it because there was another job that I was auditioning for where the lady was pregnant. And I was like 'I need a job.'"
Bowen wanted "Modern Family," but wasn't sure she would get it. In the end she got the gig.
"When I think of that, that can keep me up in the middle of the night," she said. "I don't know what my life would be like right now."
Then, she explained that everyone gets along.
"Every night I get a call or I get an email [there are stories] that you are icy to Sofia Vergara, because you are jealous of her fame," she explained. "So I emailed her last night and we talk. Cause I'm like, 'What should we say?'"
Bowen said the two are great friends and Vergara said, "Just borrow my blouse!"
So Bowen wore the purple, off-the-shoulder blouse on the show.
About the rumors, she continued, "You don't have to have the truth anymore, you just have to have the internet. Just make up anything."
