Kathy Griffin Offered Hosting Role on 'Fashion Police' After Joan Rivers' Death
The comedian says she's not sure the job is "right for me."
— -- After Joan Rivers died in September and E! announced that "Fashion Police" would move forward in her honor, rumors swirled that close friend and fellow comedian Kathy Griffin was the front runner to take over as co-host of the show.
Now, the 54-year-old has confirmed she was offered the job, but she's not sure if she's going to take it.
"They did offer it to me," Griffin told Access Hollywood. "I don't know if the situation is correct at this time for me or right for me at this time."

Either way, Griffin is happy the show will go on, with a new co-host to join Giuliana Rancic, Kelly Osbourne, and George Kotsiopoulos.
"I really hope they continue in the spirit of Joan's work," she said. "She brought a fearlessness and a brand of humor into our homes that we really need."
Rivers died on Sept. 4 at the age of 81. The comedy legend, alongside her co-hosts, made "Fashion Police" a red-carpet staple, with their biting, yet funny comments on the attire chosen by Hollywood's elite for big-time award shows.
On Sept. 19, E! said via a statement, "We have also thought long and hard about what Joan would have wanted as it pertains to the future of Fashion Police. We decided, with Melissa Rivers' blessing, that Joan would have wanted the franchise to continue. Fashion Police will return in 2015 commencing with Golden Globes coverage on Monday, January 12."
