Kathy Griffin Opens Up to Howard Stern About Hosting 'Fashion Police'
The comedian only appeared on seven episodes of the show.
— -- Kathy Griffin has no regrets leaving E!'s "Fashion Police."
The 54-year-old stand-up comic stopped by the Howard Stern Show today, opened up about her exit and debunked any rumors about her short stint as host.
"I don’t really feel like it was my best work, I'll be honest," Griffin told Stern. "I stand by my specials and my series."
"And a lot of the press was you know, 'you're no Joan Rivers,' I get it. I never said I was Joan Rivers. I'm just trying to be me, just trying to be Kathy Griffin, do my thing."
When Stern asked about co-host Kelly Osbourne's supposed disapproval of Griffin as Joan Rivers' replacement, Griffin said that report was false.
"I think that part is incorrect, I really do," she said. "Because I knew Kelly and we’ve been friends and I know Sharon very well. I know that there was a genuine relationship between Kelly and Joan and I would say that Kelly is still you know, grieving and has been very open about that.
"But no, like any sort of quote 'shade' thrown between us was all false and made up."
Stern joked with Griffin, asking her if she'd be wiling to bring her 'good buddy' Cher on "Fashion Police."
"I would love to bring Cher on the show," she laughed.
