Kelly Ripa Wishes Her Son Michael a Happy 18th Birthday

— -- Kelly Ripa opened "Live with Kelly & Michael" on Tuesday by saying "Happy birthday to my very favorite first-born child."

Michael Consuelos turned 18 today and Ripa, 44, said he's officially "a grownup."

"The boy is a grown man," she said. "And he's my oldest and in a lot of ways, he's my youngest because I babied him."

She also posted a sweet message to Instagram with the caption, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO HE (aka Michael Consuelos)Seems like yesterday you were digging in the sand. I love you."

Ripa added that last night, her son couldn't believe today was his birthday and he was getting excited.

"I can't believe how big you are," Ripa said she told her son.
