Why Kendall Jenner Didn't Want Kim Kardashian at Her Fashion Show
The model opens up about making it without the Kardashian name.
— -- Kendall Jenner is a successful model and a reality star on "Keeping Up With the Kardashians."
But Jenner, 19, wanted to make it on her own and didn't want her family present when she walked the runway for her first Marc Jacobs show last year.
"I didn't need it to be a family affair," she told Allure for its March cover story. "As selfish as this sounds, I wanted the attention to be on me for five seconds rather than my family."
She continued, "If they were sitting front row, it would have been all about, 'Oh, Kim goes to Kendall's first fashion show!'"
Jenner is hitting it big and has big shoes to fill with big sister Kim Kardashian West, 34, who's a reality icon and married to Kanye West.
"I love Kim, but for a minute I wanted it to be like, 'OK, this is [Kendall's] thing—she's taking it seriously.'" she added.
Jenner does listen to Kim when it comes to sisterly advice.
"I have a really weird thing about 'forever.' And my sister Kim always said, 'Don't put a bumper sticker on a Bentley.'" she added.
