How Kerry Washington Hides Her Baby Bump on 'Scandal'
The actress is expecting her second child.
— -- Kerry Washington had her baby bump on full display in the latest episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."
But you would never know she's pregnant on her hit ABC show "Scandal."
Washington, who is currently shooting the show's next season, explained how she and the rest of the "Scandal" crew are managing to hide the fact that she is expecting her second child with husband Nnamdi Asomugha. The two are also parents to 2-year-old daughter Isabelle Amarachi.
"Big coats, big bags...hiding behind different body parts of other actors," the 39-year-old actress told DeGeneres.
When the audience laughed, she clarified that she meant "bigger body parts."
"Like if I’m in the back of the room, it can be, like, somebody’s leg, and I’m positioned behind it," Washington expounded.
"Lamps are good," she added. "Vases."
Her bump isn't the only thing Washington is hiding. When DeGeneres asked her what the sex of the baby was, the usually private Washington replied, "We’re hoping for a human."
DeGeneres suggested to Washington that she name the baby "Ellen."
"That is at the top of the list," the "Django Unchained" star joked.
DeGeneres also threw out "Portia," referring to Portia de Rossi, DeGeneres' wife and Washington's co-star on "Scandal."
"Duh," Washington said.
