Kim Fields Says She Discovered ‘A New Passion’ Performing on ‘DWTS’
Kim Fields and Von Miller got the boot on double-elimination night.
— -- It was a dazzling and daring night in the ballroom as “Dancing With the Stars” delivered a stunning, albeit sad, double elimination on “Icons Night.”
Kim Fields and Von Miller got the boot despite Fields earning her highest score of the season for her samba to Jackson 5.
“It was very much a shocker. I’m very stunned,” Fields, 46, said on “Good Morning America” today. “Even as it was unfolding, it was like, ‘Okay, Wanyá is saved,’ and then we were just listening like, ‘Wait, this is this.’ Just stunned, and now it’s like a bad Vine that plays in my head of Tom [Bergeron] just saying ‘Kim.’”
Her professional partner, Sasha Farber, lifted her spirits by complimenting her dancing ability.
“If you’re going to go, you go out on a bang,” he said. “She got three 9s, and she looked amazing and I’m just happy that I got this opportunity to dance with this amazing woman and be there by your side and see you grow as a dancer.”
Miller wasn’t able to make it to ABC's Times Square studio following his elimination, but his partner, Witney Carson, said they had a “great time” dancing together to Elvis’ “A Little Less Conversation.”
“We wanted to go full-out, full character, so we decided to Elvis,” she said. “We wanted to put on a great salsa and get some lifts in there and Von had an amazing time. He had so much fun and it was great.”
Fields said she gained “so much” from performing on the show.
“A whole new skill set, first of all, at one of the highest levels you could image, blending with pros and being in their environment,” she explained. “I’ve discovered a new passion and a new happy place for myself. It’s really exciting.”
“We’re taking it to Broadway,” Farber joked.
Next Monday on "Dancing With the Stars" there will be instant audience voting for the judges' Team-Up Challenge.
