Nov. 24, 2010 — -- Stars and public restrooms: they've got a not-so-great relationship.

Britney Spears made headlines when she stumbled into one at a gas station, barefoot. George Michael's been busted in bathrooms in both Beverly Hills and Britain.

But Kim Kardashian's changing all that. She's putting her assets to use and promoting Charmin's fifth annual public restroom, which opened its doors in New York City's Times Square Tuesday, just in time for the crush of harried holiday shoppers in need of a rest stop. The spacious, 15-stall spot offers a clean, friendly environment for families to "enjoy the go" while they're on-the-go.

ABCNews.com chatted with the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star about why she decided to add a public restroom to the portfolio of products she already promotes, and what she's looking forward to this holiday season.

ABCNews.com: So, why are you promoting a public restroom?

Kardashian: About a week ago, Kourtney and I were out shopping with my nephew, Mason, and it was almost impossible to stop and find a changing room for him. It literally ruined our shopping experience. So I can only imagine what it's like shopping during the holidays. So anytime I can kind of, you know, align myself and put awareness to, you know, getting great people jobs and opening up a great clean facility, you know, why not?

ABCNews.com: The holidays are coming up – what gifts are you excited to give?

Kardashian: I don't want to give it away too much, but I'm getting my sisters and my mom all something the same, something that I have, something that can be a little friendship bond between all of us. I like to do more meaningful gifts. For Christmas, my whole family goes all out. We just buy crazy gifts for each other.

ABCNews.com: And what do you hope to get?

Kardashian: I don't really care this year. It's weird. It's the first year I haven't cared. But I don't know, maybe some jewelry.
