LeAnn Rimes Gets Engaged to Eddie Cibrian

Multi-Grammy award-winning singer LeAnn Rimes and actor Eddie Cibrian have announced their engagement, according to People magazine.

The couple was seen today on the beach in Malibu, Calif., and Rimes was wearing a new ring. A source told People the ring is a 5-carat oval diamond set in rose gold fleur-de-lis.

"Thank you for all your well wishes!! We are extremely excited and look forward to a beautiful future. It's been an incredible last few days, I was shocked!!! We are blessed, our families are so happy and our lives are filled with love," Rimes wrote on her Twitter page.

Rimes and Cibrian met last year on the set of their made-for-TV movie, "Northern Lights." The movie received more publicity for its off-screen drama than its on-screen plot, when rumors spread that Rimes, who was then married to dancer Dean Sheremet, was having an affair with Cibrian, who was also married and had two children with model Brandi Glanville.

"The truth is that we're human beings. ... We make mistakes and we learn from them, but we're human. We fell in love," Cibrian told ABC News' Robin Roberts.

Cibrian moved into Rimes' home outside of Los Angeles over the summer.

"It happens every day to so many people. And if I take away my album sales, my words, and you have just another couple. You had two couples whose marriages didn't work who really stumbled upon each other and fell in love," Rimes told Roberts.
