— -- Mariah Carey is back with a new single.

From the sound of her new release -- the first since her split with from Nick Cannon -- it appears Carey may be using music to move on.

"Why you mad / Talking bout you mad / Could it be / That you just lost the best you / Ever had / That's yo bag / Yep that's too bad," she sings in the new track "Infinity," from her upcoming greatest hits album, "Mariah Carey #1 to Infinity."

"Close the door / Lose the key / Leave my heart on the mat for me / I was yours / Eternally / There's an end to infinity / To infinity," Carey croons in the chorus.

Cannon confirmed last October that he and Carey, parents of 3-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, were living apart.

Despite her personal turmoil, which includes a lawsuit filed in January by the former nanny to her twins, things are looking up for Carey professionally.

She recently announced a residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

"I'm going to do my first ever residency in Vegas at Caesars," Carey said on "The Ellen DeGeneres" show back in January. "This is a special event for me!"

The show, titled "Mariah Carey #1s," will open May 6, and then run in May and July.
