Autopsy Conducted on Fashion Designer L'Wren Scott's Body
The medical examiner has determined that suicide was the cause of death.
March 19, 2014 — -- The body of Fashion designer L'Wren Scott has been released to a funeral home after authorities confirmed today that she hanged herself, ABC News has confirmed.
Scott, 47, was found dead on Monday in her Manhattan apartment.
The NYC Medical Examiner's Office said it completed the autopsy and determined Scott committed suicide by hanging.
Scott was a renowned stylist and fashion designer whose clothes have been worn by A-listers including Nicole Kidman, Angelina Jolie and Penelope Cruz.

In addition to her career in fashion, Scott had dated Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger for more than a decade.
"I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way," the Rolling Stones frontman said in a statement released Tuesday on his website.

"We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves," Jagger wrote. "She had great presence and her talent was much admired, not least by me."
