— -- Melissa Rivers is following in her mother's footsteps.
The daughter of Joan Rivers, who has been an executive producer of "Fashion Police" since 2010, is the new co-host of the show, E! announced today. Rivers will join Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski when the show returns later this year.
“As an executive producer since the beginning, Melissa helped shape 'Fashion Police’ into an iconic TV series that couples fashion with comedy,” said Jeff Olde, the network's executive vice president of programming and development. "We are pleased to now also feature Melissa in front of the 'Fashion Police' cameras, as she joins returning panelists Giuliana and Brad. And with the added flavor of rotating panelists, the show will deliver fresh, different and unpredictable fashion reviews with each new episode.”
In addition to Rivers, Rancic and Goreski, the show will now feature two rotating celebrity guests each week. "Fashion Police" is slated to return Aug. 31 in conjunction with the MTV Video Music Awards.
“I’m very excited to be given the opportunity to continue to work with my E! and ‘Fashion Police’ family,” said Rivers.
