May 12, 2014 -- Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary last month, but rumors have been swirling that the couple is on the brink of divorce.

Cannon, however, dismissed the rumors, calling them "humorous."

Speaking to Parade magazine, Cannon said tabloid reports that Carey wants to "cut him loose" because she's angry about him talking about his past sexual exploits in interviews have "no merit or truth."

"You kind of have to ignore it because every week it’s something different, and if you paid attention to it, it actually probably would start really affecting you," he added. "It’s kind of humorous, really. It couldn’t be further off from the truth, and it really affects the credibility of the so-called newspapers.”

Why Nick Cannon Won't Be Spending Valentine's Day with Mariah Carey

Cannon also dismissed reports that the couple's relationship is so rocky that they didn't even celebrate their wedding anniversary. He said they did, and also marked the third birthday of his and Carey's twins, Monroe and Moroccan, which falls on the same day.

"We definitely had a good time. The first part of the day, we threw a birthday for them and their friends at their school, and then after that, once we tired all the kids out, we had a nice romantic rooftop evening and kind of re-enacted some of our wedding and engagement rituals that we do every year," he said. "It was low-key. I mean the year before, we kind of went over the top with Disneyland, so we kind of wanted to reel it in this year."
