Nick Cannon Says He's Not Ready to Date After Split With Mariah Carey
"I just don't think I'm ready to date yet," he told People magazine.
— -- Nick Cannon may be single, but it doesn't mean he's ready to jump back into the dating game following his split from estranged wife Mariah Carey.
"I haven't figured it out yet," he told People magazine. "I just don't think I'm ready to date yet."
Carey, 45, and Cannon, 35, split in August 2014 after six years of marriage. The estranged couple, who have two children together, are currently in the midst of a divorce. Meanwhile, Carey has moved on. She announced her engagement to Australian billionaire James Packer last month.
"It's funny because my next film that I'm writing is all about online dating so I'm learning all about it," Cannon explained. "It's so intriguing to me but I have yet jump into that pool. But it's the new wave so I'm not against it."
Still, it's clear that Cannon has been thinking a lot about his love life lately. The actor posted several quotes to Instagram Friday on the subject of love.
The actor told People that for now, he's "adjusting and adapting" to having more alone time as a bachelor.
"You're living life," Cannon added. "I have really learned to value private time. I've been deep in meditation and getting to know myself...that moment when I do get a little bit of quiet, it's quiet doing nothing. Just quiet. I love it."
When he's not working, Cannon said he's focused on his children, Monroe and Moroccan. He's even co-parenting with Carey.
"I think we're doing a fairly good job keeping them well-rounded, showing them the remarkable things in the world but also letting them understand that they're just normal 4 year olds," he said.
