Olivia Munn, Adrian Grenier and Bill Nye open up about the new series.
— -- Disney Junior is launching a new show, "Miles from Tomorrowland," and it's got an all-star cast behind it.
Olivia Munn, Adrian Grenier, Mark Hamill, George Takei, Bill Nye, Wil Wheaton, Alton Brown and Brenda Song all voice characters in the new "intergalactic adventure series," which premieres on Feb. 6, and now, a few of them are speaking out about it.
"Our show is sci-fi and also real science," said Munn. "As I'm reading the script, I'll be learning things that I didn't know about."
The series centers on Miles Callisto (voiced by Cullen McCarthy), an adventurer whose family, including his mother and ship captain, Phoebe (Munn), engineer dad Leo (Tom Kenny), sister Loretta (Fiona Bishop) and uncle, Captain Joe (Grenier), help connect the galaxy with the Tomorrowland Transit Authority.
"Together, they explore new galaxies filled with peculiar aliens, space-age vehicles and high-tech gadgets, taking young viewers and their families on a futuristic journey designed to fuel kids' natural interest in space and at the same time reminding them of the importance of what lies close to home – the family bond," Disney said in a statement.
Nye, who provides the voice for Professor Rubicon, Miles' science teacher, explained why this show is so important to him.
"It's very important that we continue to explore space so that we get a generation of young people excited about science and technology," he said, "so that we can, dare I say it, change the world."
