Original Ghostbusters Surprise New Cast
Watch the sweet moment.
— -- Jimmy Kimmel welcomed "Ghostbusters" stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon to his show on Wednesday night, along with some other surprise guests.
After talking about the reboot, out in theaters July 15, Kimmel invited Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts from the original movie 32 years ago to take the stage as well.
Here's the surprise. It's very sweet.
The eight stars sat together and watched clips of the new movie, then shared stories.
"I was 14, and I may have seen it repeatedly," McCarthy said about the original. "I was slightly obsessed with it."
Murray explained his reluctance to be in any reboot until this particular cast came on board.
"It's only 'cause I knew these girls were funny," the icon said. "You'll delight in the film ... There is just no quit in these girls."
Murray admitted that a reboot of such a classic "is a tough movie to pull off" but that the new cast did just that.
