See First Photo of Natalie Portman as Jacqueline Kennedy

— -- The first photo of Natalie Portman as Jacqueline Kennedy was released today.

Portman, 34, is portraying the former first lady in Pablo Larraín's upcoming biopic "Jackie," which recounts the first lady's experience in the days immediately following the assassination of her husband, President John F. Kennedy, in 1963.

In the first-look photo, Portman is seen wearing a red suit, a string of pearls and a classic 1960's hairstyle as she looks off to the side of the camera.

Portman follows actresses like Katie Holmes, Ginnifer Goodwin and Minka Kelly, who have all portrayed Jacqueline Kennedy in various projects.

"Jackie" is set to premiere in 2017.
