Actor Chris Pine plays Capt. James T. Kirk in the upcoming "Star Trek" film. The role was originally played by William Shatner, pictured left. The new film, a prequel, chronicles the early days of Capt. Kirk and Mr. Spock (Zachary Quinto), before they unite aboard the USS Enterprise to combat Nero (Eric Bana), a Romulan from the future who threatens the United Federation of Planets. The film, which is the 11th "Star Trek" movie to appear on the big screen, will hit theaters May 8, 2009.
